Fantastic opportunity! We are a school for pupils with severe learning difficulties and complex behaviours based in Olton, with a Satellite Centre at Green Lane in Shirley. We are looking to recruit a D Post learning support assistant within our school.  You are likely to be based at the main Reynalds Cross site but there will be an expectation that you travel to the Green Lane site to work also if required.  Our school caters for pupils with a range of special educational needs and challenging behaviours.

You will work under the instruction/guidance of the teacher to undertake work/care/support programmes, to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.  Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area. A collaborative approach to planning, developing, assessing and implementing programmes of work is essential. To assist with the guidance and support of other teaching assistants. You will be asked to follow pupils care plans and carry out personal care needs and hygiene, therefore you will need a general good level of physical fitness due to the active requirements of this role

You will be able to demonstrate an ability to understand and work within the principles of SEN, with a working knowledge or the curriculum and assessment and have experience of working or interfacing with these pupils.
